In 1976, twenty one women from the Oakhurst School PTA planned and stitched a quilt depicting scene from the past and present in the Township of Ocean. Twelve of the women were on hand for it first showing at the public library. They are, from left to right, as follows: (seated) Betty Wilms, Lila Preszler, Judy Hansen, Marjorie Edelson, Rosemary Gregory, Karen Dehaenen, and Judy Smith; (standing) Ann Stile, Barbara Gilham, Barbara Hoppin, Nancy Sproat, and Janice Hiers.
